At the heart of Sydney, we are a small family with a story much like yours. As immigrants, we have had to move to different states and regional areas. Our journey took us to Wollongong, NSW, Perth, WA, and Darwin, NT, where we were shocked by the exorbitant prices of South Asian groceries. The cost of these items in regional areas and cities like Perth and Darwin was much higher than what we were used to paying in Sydney.

Inspired by this challenge, we started our research and discovered that the situation was not unique to us. Indian, Nepalese, and other South Asian groceries were consistently priced higher in many areas across Australia.

And so, the idea for Mahal Mart was born. Our vision was simple: to provide South Asian groceries at affordable prices, no matter where you lived. We believed that by cutting out the operational costs of running physical stores, we could pass those savings on to our customers.
